Fixes for October 10, 2026
All changes listed below were installed today. Some of them have not been verified in game yet: those items are marked separately, and a deployed improvement does not mean that a report has been fully verified.
General changes
- Quest reputation: Quests that are meant to lower reputation with a faction lower it again. Previously such a quest raised that reputation straight to the maximum; this was most noticeable with the Bloodsail Buccaneers.
- Reputation gain rate: The accelerated reputation gain applies equally to regular and to low-level ("gray") quests and kills.
- PvP rules: For characters below the maximum level, PvP rules switch off about 20 seconds after leaving combat with a PvP-flagged opponent; previously they never switched off.
- Summoned helpers: A guardian summoned by a quest item no longer stays locked onto the target the summon was used on: it returns to its owner and joins the owner's fights. Summoning again replaces the previous helper instead of adding another one. This change affects general helper behavior and is still being checked.
- Personal quest companions: Summoning a personal companion again replaces the previous one; another player's personal companion nearby no longer prevents yours from appearing.
- Player-controlled quest vehicles: A horse or machine controlled by a player no longer picks a target or starts fighting by itself. The body of a creature killed in the saddle drops to the ground. A rider cannot be pulled off a vehicle with Death Grip and similar abilities; the whole pair comes to the player instead.
- Creature routes: Patrols on previously restored Northrend routes, the Stormwind mounted patrol, and the Darkshire watchers no longer pause at every route point.
- Event scripts: The "despawn" action in creature and object scripts applies to the target named in the script. Quests credited by an event fill their objective counters, so a completed quest no longer shows "0/1". Corrected script start order after a creature respawns. Affected scenes are still being checked in game.
- Action lines: Several dozen lines such as "attempts to run away in fear" and enrage lines are shown as a creature action with its name again, not in party chat.
- Flying creatures: Free-flying creatures keep their altitude under floors and bridges and no longer rise through the floor.
- Flying over water: Effects that should end on entering water no longer end when a flying vehicle merely passes above water.
- Wild beasts: Several beasts whose data had been overwritten with pet data got their level, faction, and scaling back.
- Duplicate creatures in Northrend: Removed duplicates of several named characters and of all fifteen Lunar Festival elders.
Professions
- Skinning: The skill keeps growing on Broken Isles creatures all the way to the cap. Work Order world quests of all professions grant their skill point.
- Work Orders and Supplies Needed: All of these world quests last one day; Supplies Needed quests are regular world quests for all players.
- Inscription: Restored the Unfinished Romance Novel dialogue with all pages and endings; the fix also covers the Alliance book in Ironforge.
- Milling: Items that start the mass milling quests drop from normal milling of their herb. Mass Mill recipes yield the loot of four normal millings in a row. Corrected pigment yields; Astral Glory can be milled. This report is still being checked.
- Vantus Runes: Added and corrected Vantus Rune techniques in the loot of Legion raid bosses and world bosses. Several ranks are still being clarified.
- Tailoring: Removed duplicate pattern lines from pattern vendors in Highmountain and Suramar.
- Leatherworking: Fel Tanning is offered after turning in Wrong End of the Knife and Hounds Abound; Stamped Stories and Claw of the Land are available again.
- Recipe vendors: Removed duplicate leatherworking and blacksmithing recipes from Stalriss Dawnrunner and from Urael in Suramar.
- Mounting Made Easy: The lasso no longer snaps by itself. Each player gets a personal elderhorn, and after the lasso breaks the chase can be resumed from the last checkpoint reached. Still being checked.
- A Familiar Ring to It: Prince Farondis and Magister Garuhod now have the question about the ring; Lady Irisse's answer completes the objective.
- A Harsh Mistress: Hobart Grapplehammer offers the quest to engineers, and the test jumps in the prototype boots are triggered with the jump key. Still being checked.
Quests and events: Sholazar Basin
- Where in the World is Hemet Nesingwary?: Restored the flight from Dalaran to Sholazar Basin: Archmage Pentarus sends the player through the portal on his flying machine, and at the end the player parachutes down to Monte Muzzleshot. The flight has not been verified in game yet.
- Monte Muzzleshot: He hangs from his stuck parachute instead of lying on the ground; he offers and accepts quests as before.
- Reconnaissance Flight: Vic's flying machine flies much faster and along the real route, from the camp by the lake to the glacier and back. Vic comments on the flight, the engine explodes over the glacier, then the machine returns to the camp by itself and the quest is credited on landing. Jumping out earlier fails the quest. Still being checked.
- The Bones of Nozronn: Restored the scene at the Offering Bowl: incense smoke, lights on the skeleton, witch lights, and five lines from the Voice of Nozronn. Everyone standing at the bowl with this quest gets credit.
- Kick, What Kick?: Lucky Wilhelm is friendly and cannot be attacked. The apple sits on his head and returns a few seconds after a successful shot.
- Frenzyheart and Oracle companions: The summoning items of Goregek, Dajik, Zepik, Lafoo, Jaloot, and Moodle work as a toggle: using the item again dismisses the companion, and summoning a different companion replaces the previous one. A companion cannot be summoned near Artruis the Heartless. Still being checked.
- Flown the Coop! and Chicken Party!: Chicken Escapees are visible while the quest is taken; a netted chicken can be picked up right away.
- A Rough Ride: Replaced the instant teleport with the restored ride on the Captive Crocolisk to Mistwhisper Refuge. At the end of the ride the quest is credited and the player receives Zepik's Hunting Horn. Still being checked.
- Gods like Shiny Things: Added Glinting Dirt spots around Rainspeaker Canopy, visible with this quest and with the daily Appeasing the Great Rain Stone. Lafoo runs up to a spot and digs out one of several treasures; he has more digging lines. Still being checked.
- The Angry Gorloc: The quest is credited on entering Mosswalker Village together with the summoned Moodle. Removed the extra permanent Moodle and the untranslated dialogue option; a new ball can be requested from High-Oracle Soo-say. Still being checked.
Quests and events: Zul’Drak
- Troll Patrol: Commander Kunz offers one version of Troll Patrol per day instead of three at once; Congratulations! is available only after the patrol has been turned in. Across Northrend, removed 76 more incorrect quest offers from characters that should only accept those quests.
- Leave No One Behind: Fights on the way to the camp no longer block the credit: the rescue is credited as soon as the crusader reaches the camp entrance.
- Cocooned!: A cocoon with a Drakkari captive releases one enemy instead of several. Captured footmen appear from cocoons again and are credited, including when a cocoon is opened from a distance.
- Ensorcelled Choker: Stefan Vadu hands out a new choker again through the lost-choker dialogue option, including while the quest objectives are complete but the quest has not been turned in.
- Altar of Quetz’lun: Removed the extra Drained Prophet of Quetz’lun at Zim’Torga and restored the ritual visuals at the altar. Quetz’lun's body lies dead, and the goddess's spirit summoned by the ritual disappears by itself if left behind.
- Seek the Wind Serpent Goddess: Within the Altar of Quetz’lun area, players on the chain's quests enter the realm of the dead, where Quetz’lun's Spirit is visible; after One Last Thing is turned in, the altar is visible in the normal world again.
- Har’koa: The goddess is visible at her altar until You Reap What You Sow is turned in and at Zim’Torga afterwards; chains were added at the altar.
- Bringing Down Heb’Jin: Restored the summoning scene: after the drum is struck, Heb’Jin appears on top of the temple, mounts his bat, and flies down to the drum. The scene is visible right from the drum.
- The Leaders at Jin’Alai: The three warlords stay hidden until lured out: Jin’Alai trolls killed near a totem have a small chance to call out its warlord.
- So Far, So Bad: The same cauldron is no longer credited again right after the solvent has been used on it.
- Burning Skimmers: Removed the permanent skimmers standing at the craters and the extra Drakkari Captive standing on a cocoon.
- Voltarus: Caged Geists stay in their hanging cages and no longer wander around the tier; Flying Fiends keep their altitude and no longer pass through the platform floor.
- Hazardous Materials: Added more crates of Harvested Blight Crystals; they respawn faster, and every crate contains a crystal.
- Zero Tolerance: A Servant of Drakuru charmed with the scepter turns into a Hand of Drakuru with three abilities on the pet bar; Darmuk says his line at the start of the fight.
- Sabotage: The bundle of explosives is placed at the player's feet instead of above the head. After the explosion the Scourgewagon disappears and returns later, so one wagon is not credited many times in a row; the countdown to the explosion is back.
- Fuel for the Fire: The charmed Bloated Abomination has both of its abilities. The burst kills Drakkari Skullcrushers with credit, and a Drakkari Chieftain appears on the twentieth, fortieth, and sixtieth credit. Still being checked.
- Scourge Disguise: Added the intended disguise failure: every few minutes a warning appears, and ten seconds later the disguise drops. Still being checked.
- The Key of Warlord Zol’Maz: The fortress gate opens during the rite and closes after Zol’Maz dies or returns to his place; the rite is performed in front of the gate.
- Dead Mam’toth Disciples: The bodies at the altar lie on the ground; three fallen infantrymen at the Argent Stand were laid down as well.
- Rampage: Restored Akali's four chains: each anchor removes only its own chain, and Akali is freed after the fourth. Still being checked.
- Convocation at Zol’Heb: Removed the permanent Prophet of Akali; he can be summoned only with the quest and only while no other living prophet is nearby.
- Tails Up: Restored the Icepaw Bear. Darted beasts really fall asleep and stay in place, and a beast left unexamined disappears after a while.
- Vladof the Butcher at the Amphitheater of Anguish: Spell Deflection no longer starts in the first second of the fight and is used much less often, with a warning before it. Corrected his other abilities and his arrival on a worg.
Quests and events: Howling Fjord
- Reports from the Field: Dark Ranger Lyana is back at her place under the quest marker. The dialogue option of both scouts is translated and is shown until the report has been heard. Still being checked.
- Bat Handler Camille: Her dialogue options are localized and are shown only with the matching quests, The Windrunner Fleet and Test at Sea. Still being checked.
- A Lesson in Fear: The Winterskorn chieftains come out to fight in response to Winterskorn Defenders dying; the defenders got their combat abilities back.
- Mimicking Nature's Call: Frostgore appears up the slope, runs down to the waterfall, says his lines, and only then attacks. The horn does not summon a second Frostgore while the first one is alive. Still being checked.
- Skorn Must Fall! and The Conqueror of Skorn!: The Winterhoof Brave appears only when the emblem is used in Skorn. The Conqueror of Skorn! opens after the three Skorn quests, and the emblem stays with the player until the end of the chain. Still being checked.
- Lurielle: She can no longer be attacked; she offers and accepts quests as before.
- Rivenwood Captives: Something comes out of every cocoon that is cut open: a captive or one of the hostile dwellers. There are more cocoons, and they respawn faster. Still being checked.
- The Lodestone: Restored the scene at the broken tablet: the Image of Megalith appears on the stone and addresses the Images of Stone Giants, after which credit is granted.
- The Rune of Command: The Stone Giant disappears after the rune is used, and the Enthralled Stone Giant follows the player and helps in combat. Restored the scene at Binder Murdis's camp. Still being checked.
Quests and events: Dragonblight
- Blightbeasts be Damned!: The rider is no longer thrown off the wyvern while flying above water; the rider dismounts only if the wyvern really goes under water.
- Fresh Remounts: The Onslaught Knight and the Onslaught Warhorse enter combat together. A horse controlled by a player does not start fighting by itself. The body of a knight killed in the saddle drops to the ground, and a riderless horse soon disappears and comes back with a knight.
- The Chain Gun And You: Ghouls return to the yard about half a minute after dying, no longer pick the chain gun as a target, and should not gather in a crowd under the platform; the fight between riflemen and ghouls that climbed up now comes to an end. Still being checked.
- Do Unto Others: Restored Admiral Westwind's scene: the lines at the start of the fight with Abbendis and his departure after her death.
- An End And A Beginning: Defeating Thel’zan counts as a kill for all participants of the fight with this quest; Bolvar leaves shortly after his speech.
- Lothalor Woodlands: Removed Blighted Elk and Rabid Grizzlies stacked on top of each other.
Quests and events: Eastern Kingdoms and capitals
- Elwynn Forest and Northshire: Kira Songshine, Antonio Perelli, and the Stormwind and Northshire guards have routes. Stitches appears on the road and stays on it. Goblin Assassins in Northshire sneak instead of crawling on the ground.
- Northern Stranglethorn: Lashtail Eggs no longer attack. Favored Skull is offered by the Lashtail Hatchling at the skull pile. The Mosh’Ogg Bounty is no longer offered a second time. With To the Cape!, Robert Rhodes sends the player to the Explorers' League Digsite.
- Cape of Stranglethorn: In The Captain's Chest, Gorlash appears at the quest marker and patrols the shallows, and Smotts' Chest always drops from him. Brashtide Crewmen respawn faster. The remaining feedback for these zones is still being checked.
- Quest boards in capitals: Hero's Call and Warchief's Command quests are offered by the boards in capitals instead of by the same character who accepts them. The first quests of Ghostlands, Westfall, and Redridge Mountains are available without the board quest.
Quests and events: Broken Isles and class chains
- Karazhan: Removed the extra Khadgar at the entrance who offered the Legion introduction quests.
- Where's Lyndras: Leyflame Larceny: The Violet Hold Guard who accepts the quest is visible to characters of all classes.
- Mages: After Alodi's Gems, both follow-up quests are offered: The Deadwind Site and Daio the Decrepit. Not verified in game yet.
- Monks: In the Before the Storm scenario the temple doors open, and the player is no longer locked in. The scenario is still being checked.
Pets and vendors
- Battle pets: Battle pet training is available from trainers at level one and unlocks all related abilities at once. Varzok in Orgrimmar revives and heals battle pets through his own dialogue option.
- Draenor quartermasters and old arena gear vendors: Removed duplicate item lines; each item is listed once and is sold as intended.
- Class hall armor sets: Each set piece is sold only when its own unlock condition is met.
