An evening batch of fixes. No restart required — everything is already live, and the launcher will offer to update itself.
Launcher 1.6.3
The Resource not found error during the client download no longer aborts the download. The launcher now reconciles its download queue against the manifest: files that are no longer in the manifest are dropped from the queue, and failed tasks are recreated with a fresh URL and checksum.
A new manifest is picked up immediately on start, before the first sync. Previously, once the launcher hit an error it stayed stuck on it and would not continue without a reinstall — now it repairs itself.
Disconnects to the login screen
- The Dalaran portal in Stormwind Keep dropped you into empty space above Deadwind Pass and threw you back to login. The teleport destination was left over from patch 7.0, before Dalaran was moved. Fixed; the same defect was removed from the matching portal in Orgrimmar.
- Demon Hunter's Infernal Strike (Vengeance) disconnected you roughly every other cast. The spell itself was fine: the anti-cheat treated the leap as illegitimate acceleration. The false positive is gone.
- Flying on ordinary flying mounts triggered the same false positive — the detector only looked at flight auras and ignored the fact that the server itself grants the right to fly based on mount capability. The detector has been rewritten and the kicks have stopped.
Quests
Khadgar in Azsuna offered two copies of "Into the Fray" at once — the regular one and the Demon Hunter version. The same was true of "Illidari Freedom" in Val'sharah. Both pairs are now split by class.
We also found the common cause: 41 class hall quests had no class restriction set, so quests belonging to other classes could end up in your log — a warrior could pick up a mage class hall quest, for example. The restrictions are restored. If you have an obviously foreign class quest in your log, feel free to abandon it.
NPCs and dialogue
- Holt Thunderhorn in Trueshot Lodge — the missing dialogue menu is back.
- Amisi Azuregaze — "I want to make this my home" works again and sets your hearth location.
- Artifact Knowledge was verified against original 7.3.5: +1 level at every weekly reset, cap 55. Working as intended.

- The bag sort button.
- Latin character names.
- Amisi's second dialogue option — handing out the hearthstone.
- Dying on landing after a taxi flight.
