Can I sign the contract later, at another level?
No. The contract is offered only to a new level 1 character, once.

No. A signed contract cannot be cancelled or changed.

Make sure you started the game through the launcher and the "Azeron Hardcore Contract" addon is enabled. The window is offered to a level 1 character that has not answered it yet. If you have already signed the contract or declined it, the window will not appear again.
How do I check my mode and conditions?
Type .hc info in chat: the game shows your mode, extra conditions, character state and how many times the trial was continued. The addon command /hcstate also shows a short contract state.
How do I check another player's mode?
Target a player you can see nearby and type .hc info: the game shows their mode and conditions.
Can I continue the trial more than once?
Yes. Every death brings a new "Continue the trial?" window, and every time continuing costs 300 AZ Coins.
I do not have enough AZ Coins.
The "Continue" button will be unavailable. The character stays dead and waits for your decision; it is not deleted on its own.
Can a friend resurrect me?
No. While the character is waiting for a decision, no resurrection works on it.
Why can't our group queue for a dungeon?
If at least one group member has the "No dungeon finder" condition in their contract, group finder queues are unavailable to the whole group.
