Below is everything that went live with the restarts from 27 to 29 September: the new website and buying from the shop right on the site, launcher 1.7.3, professions and reputations, Outland quests, Northrend dungeons and raids.
Much of this was checked against retail data, but not yet in the game. If something does not work the way it is described, please post in bug reports.
Website and account page
- New website design, cleaner and faster, including on phones and tablets.
- Account page with a menu: overview, shop, services, voting, top-up, settings, messages. Open it by clicking your avatar in the header.
- Shop on the account page: items can be bought right on the website for AZ Coins, and the purchase arrives to your character by in-game mail. Mounts and pets have a 3D model preview.
- The armory shows a 3D model of the character in their gear that you can rotate.
- Ladder: top players, top guilds and the PvP arena (2v2, 3v3, rated battlegrounds).
- Sign-up now has its own page, and "Start playing" is a step-by-step guide with system requirements.
Launcher 1.7.3
- The "Play" button becomes available only after the client files have been checked.
In-game shop
- The try-on shows items on the character correctly, and shop items are added to the appearance collection, as on retail.
- Faction items: each side has its own, and 25 mounts got their pairs for the other faction. "Recommended" has its own selection for the Alliance and for the Horde.
- The weapon type of shop items matches their model, duplicates removed.
- Appearances can no longer be bought with a right-click in the collection — only through our shop.
- Your character is saved right after a purchase, so it is not lost even if the server restarts right after it.
Mounts
- A mount of the other faction can no longer be summoned; its pair for your faction appears in the account collection, as on retail.
- Favorite mounts are saved, and the "Summon Random Favorite Mount" button no longer disappears from the action bar after relogging.
Professions and reputation
- Legion and older professions: quests, trainers and recipes checked against retail; Dreamleaf and Starlight Rose teach the Legion skill from the first gather.
- Reputation from kills and quests in Legion and older expansions works as on retail. Normal Northrend dungeons: 50 per boss and 5 per regular enemy.
Quests
- Quest markers on the map were rebuilt from client data: for many quests they were in the wrong place or stretched from the quest giver.
- Highlighting of creatures that drop quest items, for 1389 creatures. To see it, delete the Cache folder in your game folder.
- Outland: quests that have not existed on retail since Cataclysm and extra quest givers removed; "Mission: The Abyssal Shelf" can be turned in even if the bombs expired — the wing commander gives them again; "Orders from Lady Vashj" starts from the item, as on retail.
- The towers in Hellfire Peninsula and Terokkar Forest and the Zangarmarsh beacons can be captured again.
- Argus, Val'sharah, Suramar and druid order hall quests: extra NPCs and duplicates removed, quest givers and turn-ins fixed.
- Russian quest texts now always use the name of the reader.
Dungeons and raids
- Ruby Sanctum: after Halion dies everyone returns from the Twilight Realm and he can be looted; the three bosses before him no longer sparkle with empty loot.
- Obsidian Sanctum: remaining trash joins the Sartharion fight, as on retail.
- Ulduar: Flame Leviathan comes out of its hangar, extra colossi removed, Vezax has two Faceless Horrors, Auriaya patrols, Hodir's loot is in the cache, and Hodir no longer kills the freed allies.
- Naxxramas: Four Horsemen loot only from the chest, portals back to the entrance after each quarter, the guardian line spam removed.
- The Nighthold in raid finder: the Nightspire wing can be completed.
- A Mythic Keystone can be started only in its own dungeon.
World
- About 1460 creatures around the world stood still although they patrol on retail — their retail routes have been restored.
- Broken Shore world bosses are now in the weekly rotation with their world quests.
- Legion legendaries become item level 1000 right away.
- The New Year event from the previous build, which ran all year round, has been disabled.
